You are invited to gather on Zoom for a collaborative conversation about preparing summer staff for a meaningful and successful season. This call will provide space for us to share training ideas, compare approaches, and highlight practices that help staff grow as leaders and caregivers for campers. Please come to the call with what has worked well (and not so well) at your camp. In order to facilitate the conversation, we are asking folks to contribute documents related to their staff training before the call. Please share your files now in this Google Drive. The title of this session is “Policy to Practice: Creating a Culture of Safety at Your Camp Through Training, Supervision, and Internal Feedback Systems,” and it is offered by the Insurance Board. Please join us to explore practical abuse prevention strategies with a particular focus on elements of training, monitoring, and supervision. We will discuss how these components work together to reduce risk, strengthen accountability, and foster a culture of safety across your camp’s programs and your staff (both paid and volunteer). Jennifer Perri and Chad Cunningham from the Insurance Board will help you take a good look at your camp’s current policies and how you teach them to your leaders – starting with your staff this summer.
