Executive Director – Camp Hopewell

Site Name: Camp Hopewell

Position Title: Executive Director

Position Type: Year-Round Presbyterian

Location (city and state): Oxford, Mississippi

Job Description:
Camp Hopewell’s vision for ministry is to empower one and all to connect with God, self, and others in the wonder of God’s creation. By providing a place apart, people disengage from the demands and distractions of daily living, thereby opening themselves to God, creation and community with others. Camp Hopewell provides a safe place, physically and emotionally, for people of all ages, including those who are differently abled or with special needs, to experience God’s community with others.

Camp Hopewell strives to fulfill this vision by offering a wide variety of programming and engagement. Seven weeks of summer camp include Wee Bit Camp for the youngest campers, resident church camp for ages 7-16, and two diabetes camp sessions. Annual retreats throughout the year include a Women’s Retreat, the Presbyterian Youth Conference retreat, the Junior Auxiliary’s Camp Sunshine, Camp Kesem for children whose parents have cancer, 21 United Family Camp for families with a child with Down’s Syndrome, Hallowed Hopewell Halloween event for the Oxford community, and occasional hosting of meetings of the Presbytery of St. Andrew. Further programming for multiple rental groups include high and low rope challenge courses, water front activities, archery, and recreation. Living Waters for the World (livingwatersfortheworld.org), based at Camp Hopewell, trains volunteers to assist with the installation of water purification systems in 26 countries. Participants from around the world come to Camp Hopewell to attend “Clean Water U” training classes.

Camp Hopewell seeks an Executive Director to further fulfill and expand our vision.
