Job Description:
Third Presbyterian Church (Rochester, NY) and Camp Whitman on Seneca Lake (Penn Yan, NY) are seeking a uniquely qualified individual to serve as both the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for Third Presbyterian Church and as the Assistant Director for Camper and Counselor Care for Camp Whitman.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of skills and experience with a passion for youth and young adult ministry. This position will focus primarily on the church’s youth and young adult ministry aspect of the position during the school year, and the summer camp aspects during the summer season.
Third Presbyterian Church Key Job Responsibilities:
Planning and leading youth group gatherings (twice per month), youth fellowship activities and off-site trips.
Leading 9th Grade Commissioning (confirmation) program.
Supporting youth participation in worship.
Developing relationships with the young adult (college-aged, 20-year-olds/young 30-year-olds) congregants.
Providing pastoral care to the youth, their families and the supporting communities in coordination with the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care
Camp Whitman Key Job Responsibilities:
Actively recruiting well qualified applicants for camp counselor positions.
Ensuring the well-being, care, and support of all campers and counselors.
Directly supervising all camp counselors, and providing them ongoing coaching, guidance and support.
Responding quickly and effectively to all camper needs, and communicating with all camper parents/guardians/caregivers as needed during the camp session regarding any behavioral, social-emotion, health or other concerns.
Employment Terms: This is a full-time position split between Camp Whitman and Third Presbyterian Church.
